Let me put it this way:The flight simulation community produces thousands and thousands of freeware addons (i.e. free/no charge), most of which are very good, while many of these are the equal or better than payware. Payware addons are abundant, but many users of flight simulation (perhaps most) use good freeware. Why? Because the people that created and shared these fine addons *love* the hobby and truly care. Some payware software can be obtained via pirated sites, but we do not see the relevant software companies (almost all of which are quite small) go to websites to whine. They simply devise strategies, and most importantly, develop/update software worth buying. Why? Because they *love* the hobby.
The bottom line is that most SF video producers create films that *are not worth a dime*. *That* is the truth. To top it off, much of it is overpriced (sometimes grossly so). Therefore, any person that is on a budget (and even some who aren't) will, and I mean *will* "steal" by visiting websites where copyrighted SF content is posted. Who wants to spend $25-$60 on a video or membership and then feel ripped off? This happens more often than not to many people, I am certain, and *that* is also the truth.
Producers that whine have no sympathy from me at all. Make videos or offer subscriptions that are actually worth what you ask for and I am sure that your sales would increase. Thus, you won't have to come to a website like this to bemoan your financial troubles...
