Some time back, I posted a message trying to dig up info on her
smoking status. A kind gent pointed me to a specific link at
Loring's, the Cigar Glamour one IIRC (which mentioned that Ash
had tried cigars as "an alternative to cigarettes"...essentially
saying she smoked cigs but tried to wean herself off and/or replace
some "real" smoking with puffing on a big cigar).

That was confirmation enough for me, but the picture...wow! I wish the
quality was a little better, and I would LOVE to know something
of the context. Ash smoking a cigarette on air?! No way. I'd
also be interested to know if there's any kind of petty backlash
about this from other networks (Fox News, which I ordinarily like
for the most part, has given Ash's hair color absolute hell...assholes! : ).

Shoot, I'm thinking of going into journalism, and I KNOW that in tense situations you'd probably be ready for a hit of nicotine. It's never
surprised me that many field journalists (journalists period) smoke.
