Well, if I were doing it, I might want to pass the hot cigarette underneath the head a few times and let the heat rise up and get it nicely warm. Just a little bit away from the skin, so it doesn't hurt anything precious. In-between puffs, I might keep passing it under there and see what happens as a result.

If it looks positive, then it might be time to take a heavy drag, inhale, tap the ash, and then just prick the end with the pointed, hot tip of the cigarette. A couple of little spots, not too many, going all the way around that crest, maybe. By that time, if things seem to be growing, then my mouth would become very wet and I'd have to lick my lips a little....
