I Would say between 1972-to the mid 1980s.
My first date mid 70s, blond and beautiful.
Gets in my car ,asks where is your ashtray and I showed her.
For those who were born later, this was the accepted norm.People smoke and you accomidated them,no complaints no questions.Smoking was allowed anywhere as long as it was not a safty hazard(around flamables).Ash trays were in dept stores on most isles.I even remember working at a hospital,nurses were smoking at the nursing stations.They could not carry then in to rooms for safty reasons ,like oxygen in use,but the stations in the middle were fine.(1976-1977) In the 70s I could hardly remember a girl who did not smoke.and VA slims were in. The 80s were good also ,about as good as 70s,but when the 90s rolled around the anti smoking nazis came into power
