To be honest, I don't think she ever blew smoke in my face for her enjoyment or as a form of punishment. It was just that since she was constantly smoking, I would get smoked out anytime I was around her.
One thing for sure, she never let me get in the way of her smoking. She smoked the entire time she was pregnant with me. She smoked around me anytime and anywhere. She never had the thought cross her mind that she shouldn't smoke around her kid. If I would have complained about all the smoke, she would have laughed or said something like "I'm the adult, I'll do whatever I want". Of course that was a different era, it was a much more smoking world in general back then.
