Although I wrote the original post, I'm only really in favour of dangling when the smoker has to use her hands for something else, for perhaps up to thirty or forty seconds. I don't particularly like dangling for no particular reason at all.
I do find, though, that when a bit of dangling is necessary it's very exciting indeed to see. It's as if the smoker has made the cigarette part of who she is.
